January 8th, 2012

Happy heart tonight… We have had a day full of beautiful people and outdoor loveliness.  Capped off by an evening at Sandgate with fish, chips and gelati and some favourite people.

There was an almost full moon over the water, so wonderful.

You love love love the water and the sand (mud?) my wee girl.  As soon as we got to Sandgate and you saw the sand (mud?) flats with the tide out, that was it, you protested until allowed to run and roam and splash! Your cousins Tion and Mali had a play with you and you watched the kite surfers and dogs and seagulls, getting sandier and wetter, breaking only for a short while to eat some fish and chips (yum!).  Your joy is palpable when around the water, Mumma feels you and feels that too, especially about being by the sea…. something so good for the soul!

I wish we could have days like today, every day! xxx

  1. My girl was EXACTLY the same – such a water baby/nature girl 🙂 I so know what you mean about feeling her joy by the sea – for me, seeing her interact with the sand and the sea brought me back to a feeling of alive-ness and connection with nature – feelings I’d had during her pregnancy and birth but had lost touch with on a day to day basis 🙂 Thank you for reminding me of that. Now she is 8, she still loves the water, my little mermaid. I love the photo of your girl kicking thru the water – just gorgeous 🙂

    • A gorgeous place for family and hanging out!
OOoh, glad you like the pic… I editted (?sp) it a little as still fiddling with camera settings, but was pleased with the edit as it seemed more reflective of the light I remembered than the light I captured (if that makes sense?!)

  2. We love you Ruuuuubyyyyyy!… and that top photo of you on the Sandgate mud is a beauty 😉 We had so much fun playing with you. It was the most delightful of ways to start off the week. Sweet dreams lovely. xxxx
